PE - Children take part in one PE session each week. This is usually on a Tuesday afternoon. Please can you ensure your child has the correct PE uniform in school all week. During the colder months, it is advisable for your child to have a pair of jogging bottoms and a sweatshirt in school for outdoor sessions. Thank you.
Spellings - Spelling tests are on a Thursday morning. During the week children are taught new spelling rules during Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar lessons and given chance to apply their new learning. Children then receive their new spellings, which are put into their Pirate books. At home, we ask that children practise their spellings on three separate occasions before returning their book to school to be checked on a Thursday.
Home Link - Each week we ask that the children complete a piece of homework in their Home Link Book. Each week, there will be a summary of what children have learned in school in English, Maths and one other subject, together with a suggestion of possible homework activities. We ask that the Home Link books are handed in on Tuesdays to be given back out to the children on Thursdays.
Forest School - Children will have the opportunity to enjoy six Forest School sessions from 27th September with the final session on 8th November (Wednesday afternoons). They will need to bring a change of clothes consisting of: long trousers and a warm jumper, a waterproof coat, wellington boots (or similar).
Daily snack - Children in Year 2 will have the opportunity to have a piece of fresh fruit everyday and a drink of milk. Children in Year 3 are very welcome to bring a fresh piece of fruit into school each day.
