PE - This term, PE will be on a THURSDAY AFTERNOON  with Mr Holt-Williams.
Please can you ensure your child has the correct PE uniform in school all week (white top and dark shorts/ jogging bottoms). During the colder months, it is also advisable for your child to have a pair of jogging bottoms and a sweatshirt in school for outdoor sessions. Thank you.

Spellings - Spellings follow the No-Nonsense spelling programme alongside the spelling patterns ans statutory words for children in years 3 and 4. We practice spellings during the week using many different strategies; using ipads, physical spelling activities, using dictionaries to investigate meanings and have a taught spelling lesson each week to introduce new patterns.

Home Link - Each week we ask that the children complete a piece of homework in their Home Link Book. Each week, there will be a summary of what children have learned in school in English, maths and one other subject, together with a suggestion of possible homework activities. We ask that the Home Link books are handed in on Tuesdays to be given back out to the children on Thursdays.

Snacks: Children are encouraged to bring in a piece of fruit as a healthy snack if they would like to each day.

Reading: Children will bring home their Accelerated Reader Reading book and their Reading Journal every day. These books are for use at home. We ask that children read independently (or with an adult) at least 5 times per week. Please look in the front of your child's reading journal for their current reading age and zpd numbers which will help them choose appropriate books. Also included in the reading journal are ideas for how children can respond to what they are reading, for example a diary entry from a character, a letter to a character, finding 5 verbs etc. We would like children to record in their reading journals when they read, what page numbers they read from and to and the date.
