Our Nursery Provision

Nursery provision at Lower Heath began in January 2016. Nursery are taught following a curriculum designed to support them in meeting the Early Learning Goals of the EYFS Statutory Framework. Children can attend nursery for full-day or half-day sessions, between 8:40am and 3:00pm. We also offer extended hours for children in our Breakfast and After School Clubs.

We are able to take children from the age of 3, and currently the government offer 15 hours per week of free childcare to 3-4 year olds.  If you would like further details about free childcare, or about when your child could start in our nursery, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Sadler or Mrs. Adkins for further information.

About our Nursery

At Lower Heath Nursery we provide a warm, stimulating, welcoming environment which gives a secure foundation for all children to become happy, confident, caring individuals who achieve personal success and develop a lifelong love of learning. We are very proud of our Nursery and welcome all visitors.

Our Nursery provision is led by a qualified Teacher and a highly experienced Early Years Practitioner. We provide high quality teaching and learning experiences, led by the children’s interests which will enable every child to become a happy and confident learner. We recognise that each child will develop at their own pace and in their own way physically, intellectually, socially and emotionally. This experience of positive outcomes, enhances children's self-confidence and naturally promotes a joy for learning!

Our learning activities are carefully planned through themes and contexts that are relevant to our children's interests, making learning meaningful and engaging. We have wonderful outside areas, including a Forest School and a vegetable garden, in which activities enhance the curriculum and contribute to the children's physical development and their knowledge of the world around them.

In addition, we provide weekly French sessions, Yoga sessions and Gardening sessions. Children also benefit from specialist Sports Coaches to teach  Physical Development lessons to our Nursery children, which include Gymnastics and Dance.

Please have a look on the Robin Class page (in the children section of the website) for more  information on the specific sessions provided.
